Mary and her fiancé just had their first child. Mary went back to work after maternity leave but was constantly exhausted and couldn’t stop crying. She managed to go to work each day because she knew they needed the income. Then her fiancé left. Suddenly Mary was on her own, no childcare, less household income and no way to pay the bills. Mary’s coworker helped watch her son and suggested that she visit a health clinic. Mary was diagnosed with post-partum disorder. After medication, she felt better and even earned a raise. But the electric bill went unpaid for two months, and she had no funds to pay it. She come to Bluffton Self Help. Her utility bill was paid and Mary continued to move forward improving both her and her son’s life.[spacer height=25]
