Lynn had been a stay-at-home mom with two young sons while her husband was the sole provider for their family. He had the same job for over a decade. But he left the company to go work for a local competitor. His health insurance benefits would not kick in until 90 days after employment with his new company. He took a chance on not needing medical coverage for those 90 days. Taking that chance caused devastating consequences. He was diagnosed with Stage Four terminal lung cancer. Lynn needed to go to work and had a degree but needed several classes to get her certificate. Bluffton Self Help worked with other agencies to help with the mortgages and her certification.
