Judy and Richard Grosvenor have not been with Bluffton Self Help long—Judy returned in January of this year after a break during COVID, Richard began in July—but already, their contributions are apparent. Judy volunteers on the Wednesday morning Distribution shift, often working on the floor, making sure shelves are properly stocked and neighbors have everything they need. They both also fill in regularly for on-call needs in the warehouse and replenishment, as well as off-site events and deliveries.
Most recently, the Grosvenors have turned their focus and dedication to the exterior of BSH’s Market. Without being asked, they have done massive amounts of work, power-washing the building and sidewalks, weeding, clearing drainage ditches, removing debris from the parking lots, and generally tidying up the outdoor areas. They have been willing to come outside our normal hours to do so, working on weekends to avoid disrupting neighbors coming in for services. What’s more, they have already made plans for further landscaping and maintenance work.
For all these reasons and more, we want to spotlight these two volunteers, and thank them for their time, thoughtfulness, and plain old hard, dirty work. Thank you, Judy and Rich; Bluffton Self Help has never looked better!
