Marcie Patton volunteers her time as an English as a Second Language (ESL) Tutor at the Hilton Head Learning and Literacy Center. She began tutoring Level 1 students last August. Her use of the Ventures teaching curriculum and hands-on approach to learning has created a successful learning environment and fostered a sense of community in her classroom. We often hear laughing coming from her classroom, a clear sign that her students enjoy learning about their community and the English language. She takes an active interest in getting to know her students as individuals and encourages them every step of the way. In addition to teaching ESL, Marcie is always ready and available to help with other tasks as needed at the center. Marcie’s contribution to the ESL program is making a valuable impact on students every week.
Thank you, Marcie, for all you do to help pave the path to success for your students and for Bluffton Self Help.
