Bluffton Self Help paves the path for education through adult education programs and local school partnerships. We offer English as a Second Language, GED, financial, and digital literacy classes, we host resume writing and interview skills workshops, and have earmarked $50,000 for higher education scholarships this academic year.
Supporting our community does not stop there, we know that teachers spend, on average, $750 out of pocket on school supplies each year. We aim to reduce the burden on teachers by collecting school supplies for all Bluffton classrooms. Further, BSH works alongside our schools and provides snacks to all 10 Bluffton public schools because we know that food insecurity is linked to feelings of apathy, lack of motivation, and reduced classroom engagement.
Whether it is helping our youngest of neighbors succeed in the classroom or giving the more than 500 adults in our education program a second chance, we know learning and literacy is an important tool. will you join us on our journey to pave the path for our neighbors?

Your Impact
50,000 households in Beaufort and Jasper counties are not earning a livable wage and their expenses outweigh their income. We know that when an adult learner becomes fully bilingual or receives their GED, they can earn nearly $8,000 more annually. (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2022). This impacts their entire household and ultimately the community as a whole.
