He provided a letter from a medical clinic stating the teeth needed to be removed in order to avoid any bone or blood infections from the decay. The clinic required him to pay up front in full for the teeth extractions and the dentures all at once. They strongly encouraged doing both procedures at the same time. He had saved some money for this but needed help. Bluffton Self Help agreed to pay for the extractions and sent a pledge to the clinic.
