Looking back on it, designing and building this new website for my favorite non-profit, Bluffton Self Help, has been an exhilirating and exhausting journey, but I wouldn’t trade it for all the sunny days in Bluffton. Being part of the Bluffton Self Help team, and learning at a deep level what really goes on in order to provide for thousands of people each month, has been a huge eye-opener for me. It is amazing what goes into the care and feeding of our neighbors in need.
Jenny, our Executive Director, and Peter our Board President, along with the board and volunteers, are doing extraordinary work every day to keep BSH on its toes, and to prepare us for ongoing growth, which is bound to be part of our daily life in Bluffton going forward. USA Today reported just last month that Bluffton is among the top three fastest growing towns in America three years in a row.
Building the new website that can accommodate a wider audience and provide quick information access to volunteers and donors is one of the first big steps in this process. Our goal with this site is to make it simple, user friendly and consistent with our brand identity. We hope we are accomplishing those objectives.
I’m sure you understand that we will surely have some kinks here and there as we transition to this new online home, but we still would love your feedback. Let us know if it is working for you, and what we might do to make your user experience even more enjoyable!
We are excited to have you on board as a friend of Bluffton Self Help. If you haven’t done so already, please click on the “subscribe” button to the right to opt in to our email updates and online newsletter. That way, BSH will bring news straight to your inbox as it happens.
