On Thursday, January 10, under a misty sky threatening rain early in the morning, 15 bikers headed out to peddle across South Carolina, with one rider, Joe Nix, pledging to raise funds for Bluffton Self Help.
This sixth annual trek first started as a “birthday ride” for local rider, Al Olivetti. The ride is approx. 270 miles long and will be completed in two days!. The first day they ride 145 miles and the second day they 125 miles. The total amount of time on that “really” small bike seat is roughly 15 hours
Nix’s goal is to raise $10 per mile in pledges amounting to $ 2,700. BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE. ( Sound’s like a television commercial Right!!). Nix Construction Company will match pledges up to $10 per mile. If you do the math right, this means a total gift of $5,400.
To support Nix and Bluffton Self Help, mail your pledge to: Nix Construction, P.O. Box 7667, Hilton Head Island, SC. 29938 by January 31. You will receive notification of your pledge!
The big burn of 9,800 calories to Greenville is less painful when the cause is good. You go JOE!!!!
