Our volunteers are the heart of our mission. They care about our community and our neighbors.
“After eight years of volunteering, I have had many really emotionally rewarding experiences,” said Carl. “One day a man came in the door crying because his daughter
kept asking, “Daddy, where is our turkey?” That day he went home with that turkey and his arms full of Happy Thanksgiving. – Carl, BSH Red Apron Volunteer
This is what wrapping holiday traditions in hope and happiness truly means. The hope behind a special holiday meal and the happiness of gathering with family. Help keep those traditions alive for all Lowcountry families by participating in one of our holiday drives.
Bluffton Self Help provides special holiday groceries to more than 350 families every holiday, including a whole turkey, ham or chicken, fresh produce, and all of the fixings to create a meal to remember. With many Lowcountry households being just one grocery bill away from crisis, we need our community’s support more now than ever. Check out our website for more information and to help set the table this holiday season or learn more about opportunities to give back all year long.
