BLUFFTON SELF HELP & CITY OF HARDEEVILLE – JOINT STATEMENT OF PARTNERSHIP
HARDEEVILLE, SC – Bluffton Self Help, in partnership with the City of Hardeeville and Hardeeville Library, are pleased to announce a new joint venture focusing on the breakdown of barriers related to self-sufficiency while providing opportunities for success for residents within the City and those in need throughout Jasper County. Beginning Monday, March 15, Bluffton Self Help will be expanding its Education & Resource Center programs to residents of Hardeeville. Based in the Hardeeville Library Computer Room, a Bluffton Self Help Resource Coordinator is available 3 days a week to identify resources and services for Jasper County residents. This partnership will be the first of its kind to create long-term support for residents that creates opportunities for success for local neighbors. The City of Hardeeville and Bluffton Self Help are committed to including culturally relevant services with respect for diversity to build a brighter future and stronger community for Hardeeville. City of Hardeeville, Mayor Harry Williams states, “A community is strong when it’s parts mesh together for the common good. Hardeeville is so fortunate to have Bluffton Self Help join our city and our Library to provide greatly needed services for our citizens. We look forward to a long relationship of helping and caring for our community.”
All opportunities will be free of charge. Services are individually customized with goal setting for each individual or family needs, but could include mentorship, emergency financial assistance, computer and job skills building, education such as GED and soft skill training, resource and referral services and additional personalized tools for success.
The following programs will be available:
• One-on-one support with applying and searching for employment, resume building, basic computer skills including creating emails and open computer use.
• Resume building, job skills and college readiness certification programs will be available.
• GED preparation including study guides, tutoring and practice testing.
• Mentorship will provide guidance and support while identifying personal goals and connection with available resources and GED tutoring.
• Guided English as a second language online program.
• Emergency Financial Assistance to help prevent homelessness or ensure a family’s critical needs are being met, such as rental/mortgage assistance, or utility assistance.

I am 80 years old , missed out taking Part at the Digital Age. I can not operate a cell Phone nor am I proficient on a Computer. Many Atempts where made , but to no avail . Life has ben very difficult with out taking Part in Computer or a Cellphone Use.
