In 2000, Leonor Anderson immigrated to the United States from Uruguay, hoping to achieve the American Dream. Twenty-three years later, on February 27th, she passed the U.S. Naturalization test and became a United States Citizen. Her journey to pass the test took work. She failed during her first attempt due to her low writing and speaking skills. Leonor did not want to give up and looked for help and found Bluffton Self Help. She joined the Citizenship class and knew she had a second chance to pass her test in a few weeks. With the help of her tutor, she gained the skills she needed to not only pass the test but gain confidence in speaking English. Now that Leonor is a U.S. Citizen, she is excited about the opportunity to travel to visit her mother and daughter in Uruguay. Most of all, she is thrilled to be able to purchase a home soon.
Congrats Leonor on achieving this dream and opening the door to achieving even more.
