On March 16th, Bluffton Self Help received the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber’s Heritage Award.
The Heritage Award is aptly named in honor of the Heritage Classic Foundation, an organization that sets the bar for community impact. This award honors a non-profit organization that makes significant contributions to the community and its residents.
In the words of the Chamber, “Bluffton Self Help was honored for their continuing legacy of caring. It started with a single act of kindness in 1987 by Ida Martin, who filled the fridge of a hungry neighbor, and an enduring legacy began. In 2023, the non-profit served 1,830 unique households with everything from food to funding.”
This award recognizes the immense impact Bluffton Self Help has had on the community in the 30+ years since its founding. As our organization continues to evolve and serve more households each year, we hope you all take a moment to appreciate the difference you make in the lives of our neighbors and within our community. It does not go unnoticed.
Special thanks to the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber for this recognition, we are honored.
