Bluffton Self Help announces new Chief Executive Officer, Courtney Hampson
The Bluffton Self Help Board of Directors announced today that Courtney Hampson has been named Chief Executive Officer. Kimberly Hall, former CEO, has stepped down from the position as she and her family will be moving out of state. “It has been an honor to lead the organization that Mrs. Ida Martin founded 35 years ago. As our community evolves so have our programs to respond to the changing needs of our neighbors. To be part of something so special has been life changing. Our neighbors often share the impact we’ve had on their life, but really they’ve transformed mine.” “Courtney has already made fundamental changes to our organization and I cannot think of anyone better to lead us into the future,” says Kimberly Hall.
Courtney joined the team in January of this year as the Chief Operating Officer to support the growth of our education programs. Since joining Bluffton Self Help she has proven to be a valuable asset. As COO, Courtney implemented processes and procedures to advance the programs and mission. Because of her leadership, the four Learning and Literacy Centers are set to open in June, a client intake process has been streamlined and implementation has begun on a state of the art software system to better support neighbors’ path to success.
A decorated marketing and operations professional, Courtney brings with her more than two decades of experience in strategic communications, branding, community building, public relations, programming, and business development in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. Prior to joining Bluffton Self Help, Courtney was the Vice President of Marketing for Palmetto Bluff for 16 years, putting the brand on the international map and leading all facets of marketing, relationship management, and real estate sales operations for the 20,000-acre residential community, resort, and nature conserve. Courtney is also a freelance writer and a public speaking instructor at the University of South Carolina Beaufort.
“The commitment to work tirelessly for the community, exemplified in Kim’s leadership, will
continue through the talented staff she has recruited, assimilated and mentored. Under
Courtney’s leadership, our entire team, will remain focused on advocating for and supporting
our neighbors on their journey toward self-sufficiency, and ensuring that they can thrive in their family, workplace and community.” said Doug Adamson, Bluffton Self Help Board of Directors Chair.
