FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, July 2nd –
BLUFFTON, SC – Bluffton Self Help is celebrating its 35th year of serving the community by hosting the 5th Annual Sips & Seafood Party in conjunction with the Bluffton Historic Arts & Seafood Festival. Mrs. Ida Martin founded Bluffton Self Help in October of 1987 with the mission of neighbors helping neighbors to provide food, clothing and other basic needs to her Bluffton neighbors. The Red Apron Sips and Seafood Party will be held on Friday, October 22nd, 2021 in the stunning backdrop of award winning Hewitt Oaks, celebrating Mrs. Martin’s profound impact on Bluffton.
As Bluffton Self Help’s one and only annual fundraising event, the evenings proceeds provide vital funds to help pave the way for Lowcountry neighbors on their path to success. All of the funds raised will support the more than 850 families Bluffton Self Help serves annually, those facing poverty and food insecurity throughout Lowcountry communities. “Over the past 34 years the organization has evolved as the community needs have evolved expanding programs and services to support those seeking to better their lives. We are excited to bring the community together to honor Mrs. Martin and all those who helped make Bluffton Self Help the amazing organization it is today. We are grateful and thrilled to announce one of these community partners as this year’s presenting sponsor – the SERG Restaurant Group. SERG truly exhibits what it means to be a community builder.” says Kimberly Hall, Bluffton Self Help Executive Director.
The SERG Restaurant Group is investing $10,000 through the Community Strong VIP initiative that raised over $135,000 to support local non- profit organizations in the Lowcountry.
“In addition to changes in our community, the demands on our resources have become more intense. This is particularly true with 2020 changing our entire concept of how we live and interact with one another being completely transformed. The goal of our project was to help promote a change for the better in our community. We raised funds to support our local efforts, thanks to our Community Strong VIP Package. The SERG Restaurant Group is extremely proud to be the community partner and sponsor of the 2021 Red Apron Sips & Seafood Party.” – says Alan Wolf President, SERG Restaurant Group
The Red Apron Sips & Seafood Party will honor the Martin Family and the legacy of Mrs. Martin and recognize community members that played a vital role in growing the organization. The event will feature unforgettable food and drinks, lively entertainment, an opportunity to shop silent and live auctions – all celebrating the community coming together.
Limited tickets and sponsorships are available and can be purchased online at sipsandseafood.com and all proceeds benefit Bluffton Self Help.
