As of June 2025, we are outpacing our budgeted spending for food by 123%.
Why?
More families than ever before are walking through our doors. Right now, we’re serving over 600 families each month, more than double what we were serving just a few years ago. When you add our Fresh Xpress program, that’s close to a 160% increase in need.
The donation on non-perishables is a critical component of keeping our shelves of The Market stocked – especially in the summer when the demand for our services and resources increase. With that, Bluffton Self Help is requesting help from the community through the donation of non-perishable food items to help stock the shelves of The Market for the remainder of the summer.
Every can, every box, every bag makes a difference. When you give to The Market at Bluffton Self Help, you’re giving more than food—you’re extending hope, dignity, stability, and health to a single mom doing her best to provide for her family….an elderly couple on a fixed income that doesn’t quite cover groceries in the face of inflation….a family of five with two underemployed parents juggling multiple jobs….a young adult trying to stay afloat while searching for a new job following an unexpected layoff.
Thanks to those who help Bluffton Self Help sustain the shelves of The Market, our Lowcountry neighbors don’t have to wonder or worry about where the next meal will come from.
