VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT | MEET MIKE

Over the past eight years, Mike McCurdy has proven to be a dedicated volunteer tutor with an immense passion for the Lowcountry community. As a tutor, Mike has worked tirelessly with countless students to help them gain knowledge that has allowed them to reach their individual personal and professional goals. Most recently, Mike served as a Level 2 ESL tutor in Hardeeville and taught a class of nine students for eight weeks. Learning a new language can be intimidating, but Mike ensures his students are comfortable and confident in a class by creating a learning environment fueled by positivity, collaboration, and comradery. Going above and beyond for students is something that comes to Mike naturally. Mike always comes into class, eager to share new materials and resources he discovered with his students.
