Adopt a Family for
Christmas.
As of
today (12/3/09), Bluffton Self Help has registered 284 families (605
children) for our annual “Adopt a Family For Christmas” campaign. So far
we have sponsors for 165 families, leaving 119 families from our current
registration still needing sponsors. This gap need will grow
significantly as we are taking additional registrations this Saturday
after the Bluffton Christmas Parade as well as the following Saturday.
Sponsoring a family is easy and incredibly rewarding! If you are
interested and want to make a real difference in someone’s Christmas
this year, simply call Bluffton Self Help at 843-757-8000 or stop by (9
to 3:30 Monday thru Friday) at our center on May River Road directly
opposite the May River Grill. You will be provided the contacts of the
family you are “adopting” including the names and ages of their
participating children (12 and under). You are asked to provide a
wrapped gift for each child in the family not to exceed $25 (in most
cases the parents have completed a list of suggested / requested
gifts.)
You have
two options for delivering you gifts: contacting the family directly and
making arrangements to meet them in a public place (i.e. church, school,
post office, Bluffton Self Help parking lot). Sponsoring families
consistently tell us that this a very gratifying experience. Or, if
you are uncomfortable in doing this, you can simply drop your wrapped
presents off at Bluffton Self Help.
We
realize that everyone is being bombarded this holiday season with
charity requests so we thank you in advance for considering helping
Bluffton Self Help provide a merry Christmas for almost a 1,000 local
children this year!
